Is there a web site with pics so i can see the names of some common tropical fish?

Plenty of them - here are a few:

http://www.elmersaquarium.com/000tropfis...

http://www.fishlore.com/

http://www.fishprofiles.com/profiles/

http://www.peteducation.com/category_sum...

NOTE: liveaquaria.com and peteducation.com are both run by the same parent company - http://www.drsfostersmith.com/ - the peteducation link is the "informational" site, where liveaquaria is the "catalog" site for sales.

How can i know correct common names or telugu names for botanical names?

How can i know correct common names or telugu names for botanical names?
Botanical and Vernacular Names of South Indian Plants/Magadi R. Gurudeva. Bangalore, Divyachandra Prakashana, 2001, 1004 p., $55. ISBN 81-901358-0-5.

From the Preface : "In this compendium botanical names of plants occurring in South India have been arranged alphabetically and numbered serially. Botanical names which contain an asterisk sign (*) indicate that these plants do not occur in South India but have South Indian vernacular names.

"Botanical names are followed by relevant synonyms in italics and name of the family to which they belong in capital letters. Botanical names found in earlier literature like Useful Plants of India, The Indigenous Drugs of India, Indian Materia Medica etc., are retained as synonyms, if different from the valid botanical name to facilitate the user to correlate these names found in these literatures with the present botanical names.

"Effort has been made to update the nomenclature of plants, however, some plants still appear under old names to avoid confusion.

Each botanical name is correlated with one or more vernacular name from English, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marati, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Tulu languages. Widely used vernacular names are highlighted in bold letters. In vernacular names several varients in spellings of the names are in usage due to the difference in pronounciation, for e.g. Datura metel L. : (in Kannada) Datthoora, Datthoori, Dathuri, Dhatthoora, Dusthoori, Duthura, Duthuri etc. In such cases selected common names are given.

"Appendix-I provides the full name of the authors of plants included in the compendium. Appendix-II gives alternate names of selected families. The bibliography covers the literature referred to.

"A separate index has been tabulated for botanical names, families, English, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marati, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Tulu names to facilitate the search of botanical names in the compendium."

Try the above book. It is easier to refer .

Common names of bacteria around us?

what are some of the common bacterias that are around us everyday? such as on tables, desks, chairs, pencils, BK desks, chairs, etc.? How can i distinguish the bacteria on an agar dish?

Common names of bacteria around us?
Lay people are not familiar enough with bacteria to have developed so called popular common names, like is done with many plants and animals. Here, science has the rule. E. coli is about as common as you will get as a common name for Escherichia coli.

International Code of Nomenclature of Bacteria (1990)

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/bv.fcg...

We become familiar with bacteria that cause disease and illness. Most of these are related to food and water. Then comes a few that are present in the air, at times. Many bacteria have not beed properly identified.

Yes, there are many bacteria on things like desk and chairs. There are many more on things like common office telephones.

This is my favorite. It's called APSense, you get paid to advertise. Although the minimum payout is high, it's still free and I achieved great success in getting my website out there after being a member for just 2 weeks. APSense even has Yahoo! Answers capabilities. It a very well done site packed with features. It's a great center to get your ads out there. You can even do more when you have a banner.

What eats pillbugs, rolypolies, woodlice, (these are all common names for pillbugs)?

i cant find out what eats pillbugs, please lend your help.

What eats pillbugs, rolypolies, woodlice, (these are all common names for pillbugs)?
I have seen a Jerusalem cricket eat pillbugs/sowbugs.

Anything that eats insects might eat them, though of course they aren't insects. Ducks and chickens, for instance.

I have seen a lizard eat one, but given a choice, it isn't their favorite. But they will eat them if they are hungry.

Where can i find scientific and common names of leaves?
http://www.oplin.org/tree/name/commonnam...

Do you prefer unusual or more common names?

Also do you tend to like modern or old fashioned names?

Do you prefer unusual or more common names?
That's hard because a common name in one country may be uncommon in another. For instance, I see British actors with names like Rupert, so I'm thinking that's common there, but it's not in the U.S. unless you're 250 years old.

I like common names, but not trendy names. Like everyone names their daughters Emma or Kaitlyn now.
Reply:I don't mind names that are unusual simply because they are old-fashioned. For example, Elijah or Noah are names which are currently not common in England but would be acceptable. What I can't stand are made-up names or when people name their children after pieces of fruit or New York bridges...
Reply:Unusual and old fashioned. For example, there was a man in the paper yesterday called, Rochus which I thought was a great name. Ebenezer is cool too. I like Welsh names and Latin ones too like from Harry Potter.
Reply:i like names that people don't fchoose that often. i have i don't know if they have it anymore its really a baby name book and there's some really good ones in there
Reply:I like unusual and old fashioned names.

But, the meaning of the name is crucial also to me. Unusual and old fashioned names with good meanings.
Reply:I like more common names, unlike these celebrities who torture their kids with names like Apple and Shiloh for example. Not too common like Mary or John though, just something nice
Reply:I personally like older names. Not necessarily Homer or George, but you know.
Reply:I am sick of people naming their kids after states and towns..come on tuscon, lets go to dakotas, and see what memphis is up too. and no little manchester can't go..blah blah blah.

How common are the names Christopher and Kate these days?

I'm in Glasgow and baby #1 is due on Monday..... I think these are our final name choices...but does anyone have an idea of just how common they are just now? thanks xx

How common are the names Christopher and Kate these days?
I don't think they are common at all. I know one boy called Christopher he is 15, all the other Christopher's and Kate's I know are in their 30's/40's.

As someone else said they are all called daft names now like Jayden, Chelsie, Jordan, Mackenzie and Paris.

It's nice you have chosen proper names, they won't be embarrassed by their names when they get older like some of the kids with ridiculous names now.
Reply:Okay, lots of people are saying that they are common but I would disagree. I have only over met one Christopher and never a Kate, but a Katie and a Katherine. They are lovely names, but not very common (I should say that my school is a very big school, with about 250 people in each year group).

Kate is beautiful, it means "Pure" in Greek which is a pretty meaning.

Christopher means "Bearer of Christ" also in Greek, which is a good meaning.

Congrats, and hope I helped! Both are great names, go for it!! =] xo

(the links below should also show a graph showing the popularity of the names)
Reply:my name is Kate I am 21 i wouldn't call her Katherine if you was going to call her Kate my aunty done this to my cousin and she hates it she doesn't see the point in having a name that she never uses! i don't think Kate is a popular name as a whole but it is in my family there are 2 kates and two Katherine's one of which goes by Kate and one who is Katherine Anne! but other than that i don't know another Kate.

Christopher is very popular i know at least 8 people with the name.

If you think it is too common how about Lily its means Pure as does Kate and Katherine Lily Anne or Lily kate would be lovely. Hope i helped
Reply:I named my daughter Katia, which is Kate / Katherine but the European version. The real spelling is Katja (German), but Katia, Katya are also used.

I love the name and it really suits her - she is the only Katia in the school as well.

My husband is a Christopher - and it is a lovely name - we call him Chris, I was thinking of calling a boy Christian if we had one, but no luck yet!!!

Look at the baby, then you will know. Don't forget you don't have to name them right away, take your time - I took 3 days with my second child - we called her Isabelle.
Reply:There are 1,578,950 people in the U.S. with the first name Christopher.

Statistically the 13th most popular first name.

99.71 percent of people with the first name Christopher are male. (weird, no?)

There are 44,113 people in the U.S. with the first name Kate.

Statistically the 838th most popular first name.

More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Kate are female. (again you'd think it would be 100% but ok)

this is off this really cool website, you can find out how many people in america have your exact name

Congrats in advance :)
Reply:Ok ive lived in Glasgow for about 2 years. Ive came across no Christophers and 1 Kate. So im gettin not that popular. My brother is called Christopher but hes 23 now so.. lol. I knew a lot of kates when i lived in Liverpool but i suppose its because ive been there longer then ive been here!

I think they are nice classic names and i would deffo go with them

Hope this helps

xx :-) xx
Reply:I work in a school in Scotland and their not too common at the moment, the most common ones at the moment are probably Connor, Kyle, Jordan, Megan, Rachel and Rebbecca. Although my daughter's name is Katy but she is one of two in a school of over 360 children.
Reply:I think they're quite common these days, I do like the name Kate (not catherine), but both are very very common, that's why we didn't go for it when we knew we're having a girl last september.

But if you and your partner love it, why not?
Reply:Christopher is the 46th most chosen boy baby name in Scotland in 2007.

Kate's not in the top 100 but Katie is number 4.
Reply:I like both names....just to warn you that every Christopher i have ever me has been a little bit of a menace!! LOL!

Neither are that common anymore.....thank god you are sticking to traditional names and there wont be any more apples or pears!!

Good luck!
Reply:Out of the top 100 in 2006, Christopher was the 85th most popular boy's name in the UK, and Kate was the 13th most popular girl's name.
Reply:Nice names, traditional, easy to spell, lots of alternative nicknames for when they get older, and not common (everyone else is called Jayden or Mackenzie as far as I can tell). Go with it.
Reply:I don't think they are all that common - and they are real classics - I love them and your small person will grow up knowing their name(s) were chosen with great care and love by their mummy and daddy. Good luck X
Reply:Christopher is quite common in the Falkirk area, more children are being called Kate but most of them are Caitlins which is very popular.
Reply:very common and very bad names
Reply:I think they used 2 b quite popular but have made way 2 Chloe, Lily and Connor and Dylan so I think it would be safe 2 use them!
Reply:EXTREMELY COMMON

boring in my opinion.
Reply:Very common
Reply:They were more common in the 80's

I think they are great names

Go for it x

Good luck for Monday (or any day now) xx
Reply:Christophers quite popular

but ive not hear of anyone being calling there child kate for a while
Reply:They are quite common names but very nice names
Reply:umm there pretty common, i know heaps of kates and chrises plus my brother is named chris! although i like the names! =]
Reply:They're quite common..I know 4 Christophers and 3 Kates.
Reply:they are very common names but i still like them both!! middle names??????

What are the names of various, common maternity stores??

I'm looking for cute clothes, not old lady-ish stuff.

What are the names of various, common maternity stores??
motherhood maternity and thyme maternity are great..for jeans go to old navy..i had one from them and it was sooo comfortable.. also for sweaters the best is GAP maternity..though a little expensive it has the best sweaters and they fit sooooo well.. i have never bought any clothes from h%26amp;m maternity..i really dont like their stuff..it makes u look old..
Reply:You can go to almost any mall and find a maternity store. All the clothes I have ever found are soooo cute, and I can't wait until I get pregnant to wear the maternity clothes with a bump. I am getting excited and not even preggers yet. I know I didn't help much, sorry.
Reply:Pea in a Pod has great clothes, but they are a little pricey. I LOVED Japanese Weekend....I still wear some of my tops now, even though I'm not nursing...I just love their stuff! Very fun, chic looks... no bows and absolutely nothing that ties in the back! I hate those shirts!!!

I purchased all my clothes from a boutique called Belle Maman, but I know that JW has a website.

Good Luck!!
Reply:I've found the best places to be Old Navy, the Gap %26amp; Target. With the 1st two, they have a larger selection online than they do in the stores (in fact, only very large Gaps even have a maternity section in the store). Motherhood %26amp; Mimi Maternity have some nice things too, but they aren't my favorites Try going to www.gap.com or www.oldnavy.com.
Reply:Motherhood Maternity is my favorite!

Also, most large department stores (walmart, jcpennys, macys....) have a maternity section. Otherwise, check online, there are TONS of retailers!
Reply:I found the best stuff at Old Navy. Ours didn't have maternity though, so I ended up buying it online. Very cute, hip stuff. Macy's had some pretty cool things too, but you had to look for it.
Reply:If you want convenient and affordable, then there's a pretty good online consignment store. They're selection is kinda small, but it's growing: http://www.maternagain.com
Reply:Cute and affordable: Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Ventures etc,,,,HUGS!!
Reply:Gap and Old Navy have some WONDERFUL maternity clothes...
Reply:Mimi Maternity has young clothes.

Well, names like Aisha, Zeinab, Fatma, which are traditional names, then there some 'modern', but actually Persian and Turkish names like Sherweet, Shapinam, Ashkenaz, and Nijjar (if anyone has seen 7adret el mutaham abi :D ) Then there are 'regular' names like Hala, Dina, Rania, Farida, Rasha.........

CO2 = Carbon Dioxide / Dry Ice

NaCL = Sodium Chloride / Table Salt

C6H2O6 =

1,2-Dihydroxy-

3,4,5,6-tetraoxocyclohexene

RHODIZONIC ACID Dihydrate -- I looked this one up :-)

H2O = Dihydrogen Monoxide / Water

FeO2 = Iron Oxide / Rust
Reply:Carbon Dioxide

Sodium Chloride

A carbohydrate

Water

It should be Fe2O3 (Haematite) or Fe3O4 (Magnetite)
Reply:CO2 鈫?I'm pretty sure everyone just calls it carbon dioxide.

NaCl 鈫?sodium chloride for the chemical name. salt for the common name (not in chemistry though as "salt" is a broad term)

C6H2O6 鈫?br>

H2O 鈫?dihydrogen monoxide, hydrogen hydroxide, etc. common name, water.

FeO2 鈫?Iron oxide, Iron (II) Oxide. Common name, rust.
Reply:CO2 = carbon dioxide

NaCl = Sodium chloride = salt (table salt)

C6H12O6 = Glucose (This is assuming that C6H2O6 wasn't what you were looking for - that isn't a common substance)

H2O = water

FeO2 = Iron dioxide (Well that's what you'd call it - Rust is normally Fe2O3)
Reply:CO2- carbon dioxide, carbon anhydride

NaCl- sodium chloride, common salt

C6H2O6- did u make a mistake? no such compound. the closest to this is C6H12O6, glucose

H2O- water, dihydrogen monoxide, hydrogen hydroxide

FeO2- Iron oxide, rust
