Is there a website that lists common names of different insect species?

There's supposed to be all these insect species, but Wikipedia only lists a couple per insect type. Is there a good web site that lists a bunch of them?

A lot of insect species don't have a common name at all. Entomologists usually prefer the more precise scientific names, and no one else really cares.





I don't know of any sites that list all of the common names for every species that has one. Even though only a small minority of species have a common name, those that do still make up a HUGE number. Usually, most sites will have a specific focus on different types of insects: such as crop pest, or forest pests, or butterflies of a certain region, or large and interesting bugs found in a specific park, or something along those lines.





Is there any particular group of insects you're interested in?
Reply:I'm not sure of any that will exactly suit your needs but I found this really cool site several months ago where you can send a picture of a bug and the team will identify it for you. It might not give you the answers you are looking for but it is a lot of fun!
