Where can I find a HUGE color chart that gives the most common names of thousands of color shades?

I need something like this for my work, I run a online retail fabric store and I need to be able to describe the fabrics with common color names. I can't seem to find anything thats of any real use to me; either the chart has tons of different hues but gives them numbers instead of names, or it gives bizarre color names that are only good for identifying particular shades of a particular companys paint. I need something that has the most common, most obvious names for lots of colors. Someone please HELP ME!!!!

There are no common color names - other than the obvious red, green, blue, etc. An artists chart would give additional names like Pthalo blue, quinacrodone magenta, cadmium yellow and the like - but those names won't help with a furniture buyer. The same situation exists with the names given to the various fabrics which are relatively meaningless and differ wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Reply:I think you are looking for something that doesn't exist. The reason they use numbers is that there isn't any realistic way to name all the variations of color.

If you use a Pantone color chart you would be using an universal color reference that covers about everything. And you can tell anyone, anywhere to look up PMS 363 and they can find a Pantone color chart and find what shade of green that is. (PMS is Pantone Matching System).
Reply:Check with an art supply store. Maybe they have such a chart.
