Are these names too common for girls?

What do you think of the names Sharon Elizabeth and Teresa Marie? Thank you.

Are these names too common for girls?
I think Sharon and Teresa are common, but not overused.

They are okay names.

Personally, I hear the name sharon and think of that scene in basic instinct (sharon stone) (EWWW). I hear Teresa I think of mother teresa.

I know a couple of sharons and a couple of Teresas. The sharons I know were a little overweight, shy but a little on the grumpy side. The Teresas that I know were pretty, they acted goody-goody, but had a true bad side (I have known 5 that fit that description--I know of a few more but cannot say for certain what they are like. I only know their faces and a few minor details).

Marie seems to be a very common middle name, but it fits so well with many names. Elizabeth is also very common, but again it is a nice name that fits well with other names (as first and middle). however, Elizabeth is a long name that gives it the advantage of having an assortment of variations.
Reply:I think it all depends on culture and where you're from. Here in the UK, Sharon is a name that a lot of 30+ year old chavs have. For that reason, I hate it, but in other areas of the world it might be fine. I wouldn't say Teresa is common (here at least) but I personally dislike it, although I think Tess/Tessa is a nice nickname. Elizabeth and Marie are fairly common middle names, however it's not so important to be individual on the middle names and I think both are strong, classic names. I think both of these, although common, would make good first names. Elizabeth is great, in my opinion, it's a classic and the child can pretty much pick her own name later on in life as SO many nicknames can be derived from it (Liz, Lizzie, Lib, Libby, Beth, Betty, Lizzybet, Bet, Zabby, to name but a few!), and Marie you don't actually hear so much as a first name these days, it tends to get used as a middle name more often, and can be shortened to Maz if she wishes as a teenager.
Reply:No, I think they are just right! I like both of your names,Sharon is very seldom used anymore and Elizabeth will never get too old, or too common (in my opinion) because she is the mother of John the Baptist(in the BIble), and her name is blessed! Teresa is not that common either, and she was blessed by God also(named after Mother Teresa), and Marie*(in my opinion will never be too common either) because she is the mother of my Lord Jesus! All of your names are blessed names! And Jesus' nickname is the "Rose of Sharon".
Reply:Not really. I love the sound of Sharon Elizabeth especially; Teresa Marie is a little too traditional for my tastes (both kind of are pretty traditional, which is why they'd actually probably sound really uncommon these days among all the Mikayla's and Kaya's on the playground). I also like the spelling Theresa a bit more. Both can be really easily modernized too: nicknames like Shari and Reese could be really cute choices.
Reply:Sharon seems quite dated - a name from the 60s, not a name for a daughter born today.

Teresa, however, is timeless. Would you use a nickname? Tess is quite cute - and very current - but there are lots of options.
Reply:Wow, those are old school 1950s names! They fit in the category of Debbie, Linda, Patty, Karen, Connie, Nancy. I do like Elizabeth.
Reply:awww come on we are in year 2008 not 1908

Reply:I think Sharon and Teresa are both underused. Neither of them is too common.

I would suggest finding new middle names though. Both Elizabeth and Marie are filler.
Reply:Sharon and Teresa aren't used very much, and they are beautiful.

Elizabeth and Marie are very common, but if you like them, they should stay.
Reply:I think they are pretty

Different people come to mind

I like both of them, they are older classic names, with are trendy, but not common like Ava, Emma, Emily, Grace, Hannah

Reply:Sharon is not at all common in my opinion. I only know one Sharon, and she's maybe 30-40 years old.

I really like Marie and Elizabeth, not so much Teresa.

I also like your name, Anna :)

Reply:I think Sharon and Teresa sound somewhat old-fashioned.....

The people I meet with these names are always a lot older. They are definitely not overused for babies in this generation!
Reply:i hate all the names... Sharon is way old.. so is Teresa.. i only know like 50 to 60 year olds called this..

Elizabeth.. sounds like an 80 yr old

Marie.. is just ick.. Maria is nicer!
Reply:I don't think Sharon goes well with Elizabeth. I do like Elizabeth but not so much Sharon. Teresa Marie is ok.
Reply:I'd prefer Theresa Elizabeth. Sharon is dated and Marie is very fillery (spelling?) as a middle name.
Reply:none of them are common (popular)
