Does anyone else not really like the trendy, really common names?

For example, Ashley, Brittany.

I have to admit I love Isabella even though it's become common.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Does anyone else not really like the trendy, really common names?
Finally, someone else on here that thinks that too! I think that there are a lot of great names out there that are not strange that are not so totally over-used that there is going to be 5-6 in the same class when they go to school.
Reply:I agree. I took a test once that said I liked eccentric spelling of common names. My children are Nick(Nicklaus-as in the golfer, Jack Nicklaus), Corri(Corrine-said like Cor-inn), and Wyatt. These names are unusual enough the my kids feel like individuals in large classrooms.
Reply:I don't really like the common names either, even though 2 of my children have common 1st names. But their middle names are unusual (they sounded better with the common name first). Like one of my sons name is Luis Abel, see it sounded better with the common name first instead of the other way around. And my daughter is Maria. But my other 2 children have unusual names, Jair and Efrain.
Reply:yes, i h8 common names almost as much as i hate names that it looks like the parents just put a group of letters together. My name is ashley and when i was in highschool i had atleast 3 ashley's(including myself) in each class do u know how annoying it got?

My fave girl name is detiny and yes its become mor common but u still dont hear it much i also like ava and its ebcomming bore common but its not over populated to say. My fave boy names are gaven and caden u dnt hear gaven often at all and caden ur hearing more and mroe everyday.
Reply:i dont like common names either. my daughters name is Jade Lillyanna. i love the name Isabella. you can make up some cute nicknames for her.
Reply:I am torn on the issue.....

the thought of naming a child now makes me want the baby to have a unique name...

but growing up as the only Diana in your elementary school, I felt left out sometimes.
Reply:I definitely feel that way. I had to deal with the name Jessica during the height of the names popularity. :) What the name Jessica stood for in the past (early 1900's) actually makes me like the name, but sadly I grew up with a lot of snotty, bratty Jessica's and it made me dislike my name because I hated little girls like that. haha
Reply:no there so common

think of ones that tell what you see in the child
Reply:Yes, and I do love Isabella. But names like Ashley and Brittany and even Niki as a full name bug me.

Why?

Because when these kids become adults, they won't have the right names for anything but maybe being a tabloid covergirl (but not the good kind!) and just being considered a cutie.

Right??
Reply:I don't feel good about trendy names with no meaning, like 'Kanden'.
Reply:I would naver name my kid the capitol of Wisconsin, although Madison has become very trendy. The one I see on here alot is Neveah (Heaven backwards) and I've seen pronuciations of Ne-vay and Ne-VAH-ah. If you're going to name your kid Heaven, just name her Heaven.
Reply:yeah i do i mean there are wayy tooo many ashleys, britanys, jessicas and stuff i mean there are alot of names in the world pple should start being creative
Reply:I feel the same way with more people in the world names are becoming more common. I am still in school and in one of my class there is like 4 blake's and 6 samanthas.it Sucks!!!
Reply:I prefer the more traditional names. Names that have a special meaning or the name of someone special to you. My son's middle name is Llewellyn after his Great grandfather.
Reply:i agree with you all three of my children have unique names. i have never met anyone with either one of my daughters names and only one person with the same name as my son.
