Why do think scientists use the scientifics name to refer to an organism as opposed to the common names ?

On different parts of the world animals are called different names so if scientists use the scientific name, it doesn't matter what part of the world they are on, everyone will know what they are talking about.

Why do think scientists use the scientifics name to refer to an organism as opposed to the common names ?
its a standardized and systematic way of identifying so scientists internationally will be able to understand. just like the metric system, scientist around the world use this standard of measurement so they can easily translate among scientists of the world
Reply:Because if I say dog, no one will know what type of dog I'm talking about so using scientific names helps avoid confusion
