What happened to common names, or names easy to pronounce?

Are they out of style??

What happened to common names, or names easy to pronounce?
No. They're not out of style. Especially not boy names. Although I admire uniquess, I'm a firm believer in naming your children whatever makes you happy. If that's naming your child a very common and overused name like James or Emily, go for it.
Reply:Everyone else started calling their babies variants on Jayden!

Suits me. The fewer kids with the sort of names that people actually take seriously and want to employ, the better chance that my kids will get good jobs.
Reply:Actually classic names have been making a huge comeback - Nicholas, Andrew, Ruth, Matthew, Abigail, Natalie, etc.
Reply:Well people mostly want unique names now but no they arn't out of fashion
Reply:I hope not.
Reply:i guess some people think they're old, too common... I think it's pretty stupid. I like classic names. I had a pretty unusual name and a good middle name. when i say unusual i mean really bad, hard to pronounce name. and i really hated it. I think parents should think about it when they name their kids. I will never give my children weird

(not unique, unique is good) names cause i know they won't be happy with them.

just to be clear, i've changed my name.
Reply:I think it's started to divide straight down the middle - people are either using really old-fashioned names (which I like), or really ridiculous, looks-like-they've-been-made-up names. Bring back the common names, I say - at least people can spell them.
Reply:Actually some of the names that people think are cool and hip are from the 1800-1900's i.e. Addison.
Reply:May people just want their names to be unique.
